Isabella Osborne
Eight year old Isabella Osborne can finally reach her dream of participating in her school ‘Wheel Days’ thanks to a Halberg Activity Fund grant for a new trike.
The Glenbervie School student has agenesis of the corpus callosum in her brain, a condition that affects her vision and motor coordination.
The trike provides Isabella with the right amount of balance and support which enables her to go on rides with her five siblings.
Halberg Disability Sport Adviser, Maia Lewis, helped the Osborne family apply for the grant.
“Isabella is from an active family and all she wants to do is join in and be involved,” says Maia.
“Having a new trike allows her to do this, not only with her family and friends but also at local inclusive events.”
Isabella’s father, Gareth Osborne, is pleased to see the positive impact the trike has had on his daughter.
“With expert advice and funding, Halberg helped us find a way for Isabella to be mobile,” says Gareth.
