Jethro Taylor
Nine year old Jethro Taylor from Henderson is enjoying the benefits of swimming thanks to a Halberg Activity Fund grant.
Jethro has Mowat Wilson syndrome, a condition affecting his motor skills, and received one-on-one swimming lessons at Westwave Swim School.
Jethro is increasing his balance and core strength while developing important water confidence and safety skills.
“I love the freedom of swimming. I can move around in a way that I’m normally not able to because I can’t balance on my own to stand or walk,” says Jethro.
Jethro’s mother, Shelley Taylor, is thrilled with his progress and the positive impact swimming is having on her son.
“The lessons help with his walking, provide him with essential exercise and connect him with his community,” she says.
